History of Ayurveda

The third version is Ashtanga hridayam by MahaRishi Vagbhata, which is a concise version of the work of Charaka and Sushruta.
These three Ayurvedic scriptures are still used today.

As per Maharishi Sushruta, the Sanskrit word Ayurved is the combination of two words “Ayur” & ” Ved”
